YOUTH CAMP 2009

Purpose:

To provide a safe and fun environment for students to be ENCOURAGED by fellowship, EDIFIED by Biblical teachings, and CHALLENGED by application. Our deepest desire is to see each young adult grow into a man or woman of maturity, making their convictions self owned and scripturally founded.

Weekly Meetings:
Whether you read the Bible every day or just heard about Jesus, Scottsdale Presbyterian Church has a place for you:

Higher Ground Youth Group For:

Middle School and High School
When:
Wednesday nights at 7:15 and Sunday mornings at 10:30
Come have a great time hanging out and learning about how Christ's life is relevant to our lives today. In addition to the weekly meeting, the Higher Ground often gets together for social events or fund raisers. Stop by to check us out!
This past summer we spent a week at Ponderosa Pines (http://www.pondo.org/), where every year we go for our summer camp experience. God did such awesome things and we're looking towards next summer with great excitement!

College and Young Professional Group For:

H.S. Graduates and Early-Mid Twenties
When:
Tuesday nights at 6:00P.M.
Each week we will dig deeply into a passage of Scripture, openly discussing what the passage reveals about the character of God and the usefulness for our daily lives.
Please contact Matthew Wester (480-220-7017) if you would like to know what study or passage is planned.
If you have any questions or comments concerning either of these groups, please contact Matthew Wester at Unowhatthesis4@msn.com or (480)220-7017

Upcoming Events:

The student programs of S.P.C. are spreading out into the social networking sites. Do a search on facebook or myspace to get connected. Those pages are updated far more often than this website.

The College/Young Professional group continues to enjoy the Viewpoints series. Additionally we have been texting reminders to each other throughout the week, encouraging one another to get time with the Lord each day. We've found the Tuesday night discussions are deeper and richer when we're all getting personal time in Scripture separate from the basic lesson requirements. Yeah-ah!

Wednesday night was talking about 2 Samuel and began to move into a series on God's Creation. Our discussions have focused on the way scientific beliefs can inform our concept of God.

This past summer we had another great camp experience. The theme was Shine with Astronomical Influence and we heard special talks (including a couple talks from Louie Giglio) that helped us understand how BIG God's power and love are. Some youth committed their lives to Christ, others rededicated or worked through specific issues --- but ALL the youth and counselors had a great time!
